Reflection of the 20 Percent Project

From the beginning of the year, the 20 percent project has been pretty difficult. When it was first announced by my teacher my group and I were a bit confused about it. We had no idea which topic to do it on, but we figured we do it on foods around Anaheim. This was probably and easy topic to do, but it was a difficult topic to present to the class. Blogging was easy to do throughout the year but when it came down to presenting to the class, we had no idea what to present about. Reason being is because there's not much information to put together a story. Instead of making it super interesting, we spoke about what we did in the beginning, in the middle, and how we finished. So basically we made a story on our progress. Although we didn't accomplish making any websites, I still think we accomplished our goal by making reviews almost every week about different places. Our presentation may have not been super amazing, but we did what we had to do. Overall, I think our 20 percent project came out well although, more effort could have been put into it.

Rite Aid

Lately, the weather has been kind of warm. What is the best thing to eat when its hot/warm outside? ICE CREAM. If you don't have a Rite Aid around you then I apologize. Rite Aid ice cream has to be some of the best, cheap, quick ice cream you can get. If you don't feel like driving anywhere far and there is a Rite Aid close by, then go get some ice cream! Sometimes there isn't someone there immediately ready to scoop your ice cream but they try to get to you as fast as they can. Some of their flavors you can't find anywhere else which makes going there 10x better. Yeah, some people may say Cold Stone is better and blah blah blah...but do you feel like spending 10$ on a scoop of ice cream? NO. Rite Aid ice cream is completely affordable. When I go there I always ask for 2 scoops, but they are always so generous and give you a little extra in your cup.(get a cup) Rocky Road is my personal favorite. Go try Rite Aid ice cream around you!

Tony Roma's- Fullerton, CA

Ever wondered how Tony Roma's food tasted? I can tell you that it is DELICIOUS... depending on what you order. It took no longer than 10 minutes for my family and I to be seated. It took a little while for our server to ask us what we wanted to drink, but I understood that she was pretty busy! After we got our drinks, we were expecting to order an appetizer or something to start us off. She never asked us if we wanted any starters before our meal and so we had to ask her to put that in for us. We didn't get the bread right away either. Maybe I was getting a little grumpy because I was starving! Once we got the food, I was relaxed. The food was so good. The appetizer we ordered was the "Roma Sampler" that consisted of a onion-ring-like bowl with sauce, buffalo chicken pieces, and spinach-artichoke dip. For my main dish, I order the "ribs and shrimp" meal. It's not exactly on the menu, but I had seen someone order it. The ribs were full of meat and they were the slip-off the bone type which are the best kind! the fried shrimp was awesome as well. I recommend this restaurant if you're looking to get stuffed because their servings are large but perfect.

Chronic Tacos- Fullerton, CA

Recently, I took a little drive over to Fullerton, CA with a couple of my friends. My boyfriend recommended that I should try this place, but I wasn't too sure exactly what to think about it. The place I went to was called Chronic Tacos. In my opinion, I thought the menu was going to be all about Tacos. Of course, I was wrong. I walked in and it was pretty much a make-your-own burrito or taco place. To me, burritos are a lot more filling and better tasting so I decided to design my own burrito. At first they started making me and my friends small burritos by accident because the thought we were using a special coupon, so they had to remake the burritos, in which the tortilla was about 3 inches bigger. I included: re-fried beans, rice, chicken, guacamole, green salsa, sour cream, and cilantro. You have the choice of meat which are: chicken(cheapest), steak(cheaper), and fish/shrimp(cheap). They charge a dollar extra to add guacamole onto your burrito as well which isn't too bad. They were quick to make the burritos. You also have to choice of making it a combo which comes with: a regular drink, chips, and salsa. The salsa doesn't taste too good, but the tortilla chips are yummy! This place probably had one of the best burritos I've had. Definitely worth trying!

Old Spaghetti Factory- Fullerton, CA

This week I took a trip down to the Old Spaghetti Factory. I have never actually been to this place before and I rarely ever heard about it. Everything about this place was new to me so I wasn't sure what to expect from the food, service, or atmosphere. Once I got to this place, I looked around at the building seemed old fashioned. Inside the Old Spaghetti Factory it was an old time look which was really nice. I got seated with my family and our server came over to us, in which he was very nice! He gave great service and to top it off his name was Perfecto. I ordered the new spicy sausage ravioli with alfredo sauce. It was really good if you like spicy foods. Before they serve you your meal they bring out a loaf of white bread with a specific type of butter. I'm not sure what type of bread and butter it was but it was delicious! At the end of your meal they offer you a cup of ice cream that is mixed of: chocolate, strawberry, and a certain berry flavor. It comes with your meal and it is definitely worth it! The ice cream is amazing and smooth tasting. Eating here was worth it!

San Pedros Mexican Resaurant- Anaheim, CA

This week I am blogging about a "hole-in-the-wall-place" that I always go to. This place is usually packed on the weekends when I go to pick up my food. During the week I would guess that it would be a tad bit slower. The reason I go here is because my parents really like their food and their service. The only bad thing about San Pedro's is that the workers mostly speak Spanish. They will understand you if you slowly speak to them in English although it may be a bit difficult. I usually order what's called a torta which is popular in the Mexican descent. If you're open to trying new things then a torta isn't bad to try at all. You get to pick a kind of meat you would like and I usually get steak because that's the best tasting. You have the choice of putting onions, cilantro, jalapenos, and/or avocado. It all depends on what your taste buds agree with. So basically, it's like a steak sandwich-steak, toppings, and bread. In my opinion, I don't think its too bad because many foods can be way worse!

Athenian Burgers- Cypress, CA

Recently, I went to a new place that I have never been to before. My step-dad chose this place as he was driving by it. Someone had mentioned to him that it was really good and that we should stop by there some time. Athenians burgers is the food place that I got to try. Although the name of the place is Athenians burgers, they don't just serve burgers; They serve a lot of American food as well as Mexican food. There were so many great choices to choose from that it was hard for me to decide. I chose to have a large plate of steak nachos with other toppings such as: guacamole, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, and beans. Athenians burgers have many locations but I had went to the one on Valley View and Lincoln. It is located more towards the Cypress, CA area. If you have one near you, I suggest you try it because your meal is served fast and the service is well. They also give you a little appetizer serving of tortilla chips and salsa. Hope you like it!
